Aboriginal spiritual significance of Cudgen – Tweed Coast – Australia

Cudgen on the Tweed Coast is a significant creation site for the Ngarakbul and Githabul moiety…..Lore Land and Language are linked…..

“I want to share with you an important creation event from the Ngarakbul Githabul Bootheram Lore about how Tweed Coast area of Cudgen got its name, and how our warriors know when to hunt the grey kangaroo flock,  gurumanmari”….

It is called  a “Boodharam gawari”, which means story ‘run’, or Songline, with all of the associated djurebil, sacred sites, connected across the landscape, and in the sky”….

Stan Williams - Duroom - age 34 - Woodenbong - Tindale“Stan Williams was my Grandfather, his mother was Charlotte Brown from the Ngarakbul estate, of the Tweed Volcano – Charlotte was the daughter of Mary Brown, a full blooded Ngarakbul woman, who had seven children….four daughters and three sons ….all of them married proper tribal skin lore way, following the sacred starlore cycles, within triangles of each clans respective territorial boundaries“…

“The following is a Bootheram Mr James Morgan gave my Grandfather Stan Williams to protect and teach…. this same Bootheram gawari [story run] has been faithfully passed down in my family since the Alcheringa , the beginning….. It explains our country and  links our people to it through Lore Land and Language – since the Dreaming ”……

“Its called , Goodgin Guruman Boojeram”

“A handsome man Buluggahn who lived in the Dreamtime, the Alcheringa, when the world was just beginning went out hunting everyday”…

“One day when he was down at the sea ‘burgur’,when  he saw a buck grey kangaroo – Guruman, is what we call him……..So Buluggahn cast his spear, ‘bilahru’…….He hit that Guruman,’bilahru bira’ but the spear did not kill the animal…it only wounded the Guruman”….

“That ‘bilahru’ had gone  into the kangaroo’s thigh…but when the Buluggahn came close to the animal to pick it up and take it back to the camp, it struggled to its feet and hopped away”…..

“The Buluggahn followed after that wounded kangaroo…He could see he was badly wounded, losing a lot of blood  and he took pity on him ‘gidhir’…so Buluggahn, who was a powerful Wayun – cleverman- collected the earth with Guruman’s blood and painted it under his eyes and across the bridge of his nose and  began singing a magic song, ‘jingan’, to make that Guruman stop and go to sleep, ‘ngurahm”….Burrigan Goodgin Djurebil

“But the Guruman was a spirit animal, a totem, and knew what was happening…. he wasn’t going to give up easily …he fought the magical ‘jingan’ urging him to sleep….and he fled as fast as he could into the ancient Hoop Pine forests of the coastal range, desperate to escape his fate”…..

“Wherever the Guruman leapt, blood, ‘gumar’, dripped from the wound that the Buluggahn spear, ‘bilahr’, had made in his thigh ….his ’gumar’ seeping all over the coastal range”…

“All the while the Buluggahn continued tracking him,  through the pine forest, then into the rainforest, always singing his, ‘jingan’ magic song……..and every time  he got close to Guruman that Kangaroo would summon his strength and leap away”….

Cudgenbil waterhole --Braeside turn off“Soon Guruman became thirsty….He stopped to drink at a river ‘Wayal Balun’ , that means river in our language, and it also means Milkyway,  and his blood dripped into the waterhole…we call that waterhole ’Cudgenbil’,  near Uki….that’s a Rainbow Serpent djurebil there- part of the Women’s Water Lore,  its sacred there …..the Rainbow Serpent Grandmother Warazum is our moieties protector,  but not to strangers…strangers shouldn’t  go swimming there… Warzum will punish strangers…. and send buban, floodwaters” ……

“After he quenched his thirst Guruman continued on …….On and on the kangaroo went… still bleeding…with the Buluggahn singing him…..until at last, exhausted he came to a sacred mountain…. There was a cave, a ‘birman , in the mountain…”…..

“Guruman knew his time was short ‘gubanjahy’…so using the last of his strength he crawled into the birman cave, and there, he died…………Juluhnnggi, that means died, in Ngarakbul Githabul dialect”….

“No sooner had the kangaroo died than ‘jingan’ the Buluggahn’s magic song turned Guruman’s ’gumar’ in the earth to goodgin [cudgen], the red clay paint that warriors wear”…..

Cudgenbil waterhole - buban - flood“All through the land, at every place that Guruman had leapt, his blood was turned into red clay…and you can still see it today……. all along the ridges behind Kingscliff, Duranbah , Cudgen, Condong Range and running all the way back towards Kyogle through Eungella, Uki and Mebbin, and into the Tweed Range…and when warzum sends the  ‘buban’, the floods,  his blood can be seen in the Cudgenbil waterhole”…….

“But the place where Guruman was first hit with the spear that place has that name Googgin/Cudgen which is the name that Buluggahn’s  song gave the red clay soil stained forever from Guruman’s gumar…his blood”…  cudgen topo map   “But the goodgin that is found in the sacred birman [cave] is far redder than that found anywhere else…. and this is because that Guruman died in there” …

And Juluhnnggi, means that Guruman was a strong spirit…. So the WayunBuluggahn used that  magic song and made him into a djurebil, a sacred site, and at a certain time of the year we can see that Guruman spirit in the stars of Balun, Wayalthe Milkyway – its then we know when to hunt the Gurumanmir, the flock in accordance with proper lore” ….

“Bird Tribe warriors wear their ochre when we corroboree, ‘jangar ba’– that’s what we call our shake a leg dance…we hold ceremony to increase the Gurumanmir before we hunt…. then we paint a strip of that red ochre under our eyes, across the bridge of our nose just as the Buluggahn did when he speared that spirit Guruman at Cudgen Heads, Kingscliff. ” …..

… This illustrates how Boodharam gawari,  Lore,  links people to Land, through Language”

“Lore Land and Language are LINKED”

“That’s the creation lore my Grandfather taught me about Goodgin Guruman ”….

Seven Sisters Creation Lore – East Coast Australia – Wiangaree Boojeram Gawari

7 sisters - wollumbin caldera - labledThe Wiangarie, the Seven Sisters,  are significant creation beings for all of the Feathered Serpent Lore Traditions across Australia …..it the prehistoric lore of the explosion of water and life on a previously barren  primordial earth…..

“I want to share with you important creation lore – the Yoocum Yoocum Bootheram Lore about how aquatic and terrestrial life emerged on this planet way back in the Dreamtime…..this Bootheram  metaphorically narrates the creation of life in the waters and its emergence onto land…… and the strict rules of marriage from the heavens which ensures increase, and not extinction, of all species ”…..

“It is called a “Boodharam gawari”, which means story ‘run’, or Songline, with all of the associated djurebil, sacred sites, connected across the landscape, and in the sky”…..

Men and Women share the same sky when teaching Lore, and so the same creation spirits, or Sky Ancestors, appear again and again throughout the Bootheram’s….but all appear in the sky together and the stars can be read like a story board…making all Bootheram lore uncorruptible ”….emu dragonfly milkyway

“The Wiangarie, the Seven Sisters, are Sky Ancestors who travelled through the primordial landscape of the Alcheringa with their magic digging sticks ‘ganay’ to make the first fresh water springs in the terrestrial Dreamtime before ascending back to the heavens with their Grandmother, the Rainbow Serpent – Warrazum…… Way back when the earth was just beginning …in the Alcheringa”.

“The Wiangaree are ancient Water Lubra Spirits whose ongoing celestial dance creates our sacred Skinlore Kinship cycles…. The Wiangaree brought to the surface and from the heavens the gift of sacred water –  unifying ALL LIFE on this planet……every species….

It is the Women’s Water Lore which we still use today – which can be found all over the planet ……its tracked using a galactic pentagram , guarded by the two spirit dogs, Innernoogun and Burranjarnee, whose celestial bodies are hidden in plain sight around the constellation of Orion,  with their terrestrial bodies forming the landscape  of the Wollumbin Caldera Terra-henge – in the Ngarakbul ancestral estate….

BandjalangClan mapBul” is our word for Tree….we are Bird Tribes and each tribal Clan is responsible for a Totemic Tree…..Githa-bul, Ngarak-bul, Whaili-bul”

“The Seven Sisters “Boodharam gawari” begins way out in the sea [which was once Whailibul land] and is now known as Bandjalang Clan territory at Evans Head…

The Whailibul [Bandjalang] Clan are one of the marriage clans of the Ngarakbul and Githabul…. the “ Wiangaree Boodharam gawari” travels through the waters – up the ancient Clarence River to meet with the other marriage clans……

In the Mebbini [Eagle] forest below the Pinnacle, Coowarragum, of  the Wollumbin Caldera is the Coowaragum Skinlore Djurebil ….. below the creation djurebils [sacred sites] of Winagarie Forest now renamed the Border Ranges…Journeying through the Jurassic  forests of the Wollumbin Caldera, in the Rainbow Serpents Abode – the  Warrazumbil Wilderness.….   and west to align with the djurebil of the Githabul ancestral estate, of the Grandfather Spirit ”….

Charlotte Brown, my Great Grandmother inherited the custodianship of Yar Birrain – Mount Warning and the Ngarakbul Lore from her Grandfather King Brown of Wollumbin who the keeper of was the first Origine’ Lore of this continent – the Skinlore, Kinship and Starlore Bootheram’s of the Rainbow Serpent and Nguthungulli, our Father – God, who gifted us the ancient Origine’ Lore” ……..

Euston Williams – Githabul – Skinlore marriage – Charlotte Brown – Ngarakbul

“Our people didn’t come here, we were made here, by Nguthungulli – he is our creator…he made the first people out of the earth” …..

Charlotte was the daughter of Mary Brown, a full blooded Ngarakbul woman, who had seven children with King Brown ….four daughters and three sons ….all of them married proper tribal skinlore way, following the sacred starlore cycles, within triangles of each clans respective territorial boundaries”

“Muldoom was a fully initiated ‘marugun’- which means a Senior Lore Man, and he was from the Bandjalang Clan of Dirrawong – Evans Head … He married ‘Black Mary’ Brown, the eldest of the four ‘Brown’ daughters of the Ngarakbul clan”….

“Muldoom and Mary’s union was the last full tribal marriage to take place on Dirrawong – Goanna Headland”…..

“Ngarakbul, Githabul and Whailibul [Bandjalang] are one of the twelve clan marriage triangles of the eight skins of the Feathered Serpent traditions all with their own sacred ‘Bul”  Tree Totems”….

Stan Williams was my Grandfather, Charlotte Brown was his mother”….

“The Wiangaree Boodharam gawari governs all of our kinship skinlore and it comes directly from the Star Ancestors…..it is written in the sky and into our ancestral landscapes…it is very sacred to our people…..the stars align at certain time every year and ignite our djurebil here on the earths surface….refreshing the Bootheram…increasing life and ensuring survival”.

“All of our creation Bootheram is told in metaphor… Bootheram of the journeys and adventures of our Sky Ancestors are describing significant earth events…geological, hydrological, evolutionary, atmospheric, galactic events”…..

coowarragum starcycles with pentagrams“The Wollumbin Caldera is the ceremonial and ritual forum of the Skinlore Starlore cycles…. My people would come here to ritually celebrate since time immemorial at the Pinnacle Coowarragum Stone complex…..This sacred djurebil ‘record’s the galactic time cycles of our galaxy…..Time and space  govern all of our sacred marriage lore’s,  mythologised  by the Sky Ancestors,  Leho and Leva ….the handsome Bullughan and beautiful Ggawungan…..our ancestors created and gifted to us by our Father, in heaven, Nguthungulli …..GOD!

“All Starlore Bootheram Skinlore/Kinships commence on the east coast of Australia in the ancestral lands of the Bird Tribes……It starts here because the stars rise above the landscape from the east FIRST  …and travel HOME to the west …to the oldest terrestrial land on the planet…The West Kimberley – the first land to emerge from the primordial sea in the Alcheringa – 3,600million years ago”….

“The mighty Clarence River – Wayal, Balun which in our dialect means Milkyway, flows from the Great Artesian Basin – the ancient freshwater seas of the Rainbow Serpent creation….the Yoocum Yoocum frontier was once a vast area bound by the ancient River, and our creation Bootheram uses all the stars as the story board to tell of creation”…..

“Our Wiangaree Boodharam gawari, relates how seven beautiful spirit women descend to earth at Dirrawong, Goanna Headland in the ancestral lands of the Bandjalang Clan, and journey up into the headwaters of the primordial Clarence River into Ngarakbul and Githabul ancestral estates…. Wiangaree Boodharam gawari  is the lore of their journey as they dig the freshwater springs and seed the waters with life ”….

“After the cretaceous creation epoch, the Seven Sisters send the world to sleep,  wrapped in a blanket of ice and return to the to ‘Sky River’ to look down upon creation with the other Sky Ancestors …. Millennia passed and one day they looked down and saw life on earth awakening and blossoming…..They sort to return to earth to satisfy their curiosity”…..

“These girls were all very clever and they possessed ritual digging sticks, ‘ganay’……. inside their sticks they had secret charms….Elemental forces which they could use to protect themselves from their enemies”……..

“Each day on earth the Wiangaree went hunting…. seeking water snake and gathering yam’s in the bush, and they carried their yam sticks with them”…….

Koorumbyn“A Balogun, a TALL handsome young man of the Ngarkabul, named Kurrumbil, [Currum or Gurum -Bil ]  was following a flock of Gurumanmir, Grey Kangaroo accompanied by his two hunting dogs……

“As they hunted they encountered the group of beautiful women travelling together……. Kurrumbil thought them to be initiates engaged on their ritual quests into womanhood, so he dared not approach them….if the Wuyan, cleverman, Burrigan, knew he saw the girls, there would be trouble”…..

“But that night he dreamed of the women, and day after day he and his dogs followed them, watching from the cover of the forest…. and each day he felt his desire for the girls growing…. wanting them for his wives…….Kurrumbil knew it would be dangerous and difficult to catch one of these women…so he resolved to track them and wait for his chance”….

“All the next day he followed them….When they stopped to make camp Kurrumbil stepped out from the forest, and came  face to face with the two youngest sisters….He grasped them both around the waist and held them firmly…”I want to make you my wives”, he said …..the sisters protested loudly…..they warned Kurrumbil  that they were  his tribal sisters and therefore any association  would be punished severely under Lore”……

Koorumbyn Creek - mount warning - 1933 mapKurrumbil laughed at them…and carried them both off to his mountain camp at the base of a great pine tree….suddenly,  using the powers of their magical sticks,  the two sisters summoned the waters of the creek in the camp,   ‘Kurrumbyn’,  to rise up and  wash Kurrumbil down the mountain and out the mouth of the Ngarakbul River……They then left the mountain and travelled back to their sisters” ….“Kurrumbil however would not be deterred so easily….. he was obsessed with the beautiful young girls…He decided to pursue them with even more stealth”….

“One day, having again been hunting in the mountains with his dogs, he came upon the Wiangaree when the they had stopped to bathe in the cool waters of the river – Wayal-Balun…… the women had left their magical yam sticks leaning against a tree growing beside the river while they swam”….

“As  the Wiangaree laughed and played in the water Kurrumbil crept to the base of the tree and stole the magic digging sticks and hid them along the rivers  banks ……but he kept the ‘ganay’ of the youngest sister…She was the one he desired most”….

“When the Wiangaree returned from bathing they discovered the theft and began to search along the rivers banks…..It was late afternoon before they recovered them, but there was still only six of the ‘ganay’….

“It’s time to make camp” the eldest said, so leaving the youngest to search alone, the other sisters walked away”…

“Kurrumbil, watching from the forest, saw his chance…..He waited until she came close then crept behind her and captured the young girl…She of course did not have her yam stick with her so he was able to carry her off to his own camp at the base of the  great pine tree”…..

“The Wiangaree sisters were furious when they found their youngest sister was missing…..They knew it was Kurrumbil again, so they began to plan to rescue their Sister and to punish him for his crime”……

“The eldest sister wanted to send a fierce storm ’warimay’ of wind and rain to tear up the tree and crash branches down on Kurrumbil to kill him” …

The other Sisters were afraid that their youngest sister might also lose her life by the falling branches” …

“One of the eldest suggested they should go away to the west where they knew the winter lived and send back long nights of frost and freezing winds to punish Kurrumbil…… ’bagaywena’- to darken the earth and freeze him” ….

“It was agreed to journey far into the west…..they found the winter and sent back frost and exceptionally severe weather to the camp where Kurrumbil and the girl were living …so cold that Kurrumbil almost died”….

“The youngest sister whom he had captured did not feel the terrible cold because her older sisters had asked their Grandmother- Warrazum to secretly send her charmed yam stick to her…she summoned the element of fire and was magically protected….. Kurrumbil shivered and suffered severely and as the snow began to fall ‘bina’…..it wasn’t long before he became ill from the cold and  darkness and was glad to release the girl back to her sisters”……

“The Wiangaree then decided that they should not cause any more hardship to the earth by the severe cold, so they decided to travel far into the east in search of warmth and summer….At Winter solstice they appeared in  the east, traveling with the Whale Spirits ….and brought with them the warm rays of mother sun to melt the frost and ice”….

“They did not wish to harm the Bird Tribes further, they only wished to rescue their sister from Kurrumbil and punish him for breaking the Lore” …

“The Wiangaree then left the earth altogether and travelled back into the sky, where the constellation known as the Pleiades “Waringehn’ still represents their camp on the riverbank of Wayal-Balun”……

“After the departure of the Wiangaree, Kurumbil was lonely….He looked far and wide for another wife, this time determined to comply with the marriage rules of his people…… He found a young woman who belonged to the Kooran section, a beautiful young girl whom he wished to marry…….. Unfortunately, she was already married to a man named Bullabogabun, a great warrior” …..

“Again Kurrumbil broke Lore …..He succeeded in seducing the young wife and she agreed to run away with him”…..

Currumbin
Currumbin

“Kurrumbil and the young wife travelled along the coast to make a new camp away  from her husband…..they arrived at Kurrumbin – which mean’s Kurrum’s camp …a significant place on the Gold Coast now known as Currumbin in Ngarakbul country [ Ngar-ahn-g-bal]”………..

“When Bullabogabun discovered that his wife had eloped he followed in a great fury……arriving at the camp and then chasing the lovers through the landscape”…….

“In order to escape his pursuer, Kurrumbil returned to his Pine tree camp, and climbed up to hide amongst the topmost branches…… Bullabogabun was furious, so he gathered all the wood he could find and piled it into a heap at the base of the tree…… He set fire to the sticks and burnt the huge pine tree to cinders” …

“As the flames reached high into the air, Kurrumbil was carried with them far into the sky, where he remains today near the Wiangaree as the star Aldebaran, and he now follows the Wiangaree sisters eternally, just as he did in his youth”……

“Every year the Wiangaree reappear…rising from the east in the ocean off Ngarakbul ancestral estate – always on winter solstice–  always travelling with the whale spirits ‘wardham’….. together they bring with them the skinlore and of promise of pleasant warm weather returning to those who uphold the lore….

After which they gradually disappear towards the west…… This reminds us they are preparing to send the cold and winter to warn the Tribes men not to carry off a woman of the wrong kin, but to always choose proper wives as the Skinlore says they should”….

Like the Yoocum Yoocum , the Mirning Moiety of the Nullabor in South Australia, and the Arunda of Uluru are ancient moieties who observe the same Rainbow Serpent and Seven Sisters Skinlore kinships, and the same Starlore …and the same Whale Dreaming … This illustrates how Boodharam gawari links people to country, and metaphorically relates complex scientific evolutionary processes…this wealth of living cultural knowledge survived invasion and was maintained through proper Skinlore Marriage given to us by our Sky Ancestors…because we followed the natural lore our ancestral ties remain unbroken right across Australia”

“That’s the creation Lore my Great Grandmother taught the Ngarakbul and Githabul women about the Wiangaree Boodjeram gawari”………Allan Euston Williams

Tooloom Falls – ‘Dooloomi’

TOOLOOM_FALLSTooloom Falls are one of the most significant sacred sites of the Githabul people…the Githabul are the marriage clan of the Ngarakbul and their lore comes from the Star Ancestor’s.

“I want to share with you a creation Bootheram about Tooloom that was related by my Great Grandfather Euston Williams….Euston William’s was the husband of Charlotte Brown from the Tweed Volcano and they had nineteen children …Their eldest Son was Stan Williams , and Stan is my Grandfather. His tribal name was Duroom which means “Custodian of Knowledge and Lore” .

“This sacred Bootheram explains our connection and place within the cosmos – the Milky way Galaxy……It is told in metaphor ….Bootheram is inherited – it can never be changed and it can never be altered and it can never be claimed by someone who is not part of our lore….it is natural lore and it has very sacred obligations and responsibilities”….

“The name of this Bootheram is  Dirrangun at Tooloom  it was related by my Great Grandmother Charlotte Williams to Roland Robinson who was a poet, writer and collector of Australian Aboriginal myths…by Mr Euston Williams– Githabal –  it was recorded in the 1950’s…as part of the civil rights movement…and this is how it goes “…..g dad euston

“Some people say that Dirrangun is a witch, that she’s mean and cunning and brings you all the mischief in the world.  Others say that she’s friendly.  But she’s a very old woman and she has long hair down to her knees”…..

“Dirrangun had two married daughters and a son-in-law.  This son-in-law was a buloogan, a well-built, handsome man.  The daughters of the Dirrangun were his two wives”…..

“As far as I can make out from the old people, these two daughters quarrelled with their mother and the buloogan took the quarrel up and sided with his two wives. They starved the old woman; they didn’t pass her anything to have a feed”……

fig tree2“Dirrangun’s camp was under a big fig-tree, here at this waterfall which is the source of the Clarence River. There was a basin here, a hollow in the rock, which contained the water.  Tooloom now is the white man’s name for this waterfall.  Tooloom is the nearest they could get to saying Dooloomi”…..

“While the son-in-law and his two wives were out hunting and gathering food, Dirrangun drained the water out of the pool with a bark coolamon.  Some people say that she put the fire out, too, so that there was no fire in the world”……

“When the buloogan and his two wives came home in the evening there was no water.  The wives were running about all over the place looking for water.  But there was no water.  Dirrangun had put leaves and bark over the empty basin hole in the rock so that the place was hidden.  For two or three days the buloogan and his wives could not get a drink”…..

“Dirrangun was pretending to cry for them.  Some people say Dirrangun was sitting on this coolamon of water in her camp, hiding it.  These people say that when the buloogan found this out, he got angry and cried, “well, your not going to have all the water! I’ll let it out!” He thrust his spear into that coolamon, biggi  we call it, and let it out”……

“Others say that when Dirrangun, the buloogan and his two wives went to sleep,  the buloogan’s  two dogs,  who were thirsty found the water which Dirrangun had hidden in the coolamon.  You see those two mountains? They were called  Dillalea and Kalloo-Guthun.  They are named after those two dogs.

In the night those two dogs returned to the camp of the bulooganand stood over him.  And the water dripped from their mouths.  When the buloogan  felt this he woke up.  He followed the two dogs back to where Dirrangun was asleep with the hidden water”……

“When the buloogan  saw where the water was hidden, he was angry.  He made a big rain, a big down-pour rain.  The hollow rock basin began to fill.  The water rose and rose and backed up where this creek is now”……

“Some say that when the water began to rise Dirrangun climbed into the fig-tree and made a platform in the boughs.  But the water rose and swept her and the fig-tree away and left this hollow beneath these cliffs where the waterfall is now”……

“Dirrangun was holding on to the fig-tree as she was swept away.  She was swept over the second fall, which we call Ngalumbeh.  At the bottom of this fall she was whirled round and round, still holding on to the fig-tree, in a whirlpool for half a day”……

Tooloom Falls1“The water was getting stronger and stronger.  The buloogan had cursed the water to make it unmanageable.  It took her and the fig-tree away down the Clarence River.  From time to time Dirrangun would sit in the torrent with her legs wide apart trying to block the water, but each time the flood would bear her away”……..

“Where the South River comes into this river, Dirrangun sat with her legs outspread.  The water rose and went up and made the South River.  There she sat until the flood rose and swept her and the fig-tree on again”…..tooloom water

“Below Grafton on the river there is a fig-tree growing. Many old men would see that fig-tree and say, “Oh look! Dooloomi borrgun!”. This means, “that fig-tree belongs to Tooloom!”.  Those old men would say, “Dirrangun. She’s away down there, but she belongs up there at Tooloom.”And I am told that Dirrangun is still in that fig-tree below Grafton”…..

“That’s the Lore my Grandfather taught me “……

“My Great Grandfather,  Euston William’s was the husband of Charlotte Brown…..Charlotte is my Ngarakbul Great Grandmother  from the Tweed Volcano where Yar Birrain is the centrepiece of the Ngarakbul ancestral estate……Charlotte was the daughter of Mary,  which is common name for a full blood woman,  and Mary’s djurebil is Biorgini – that’s Blue Knob – near Nimbin.”….. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

“Euston and Charlotte had nineteen children …Their eldest Son was Stan Williams , and Stan is my Grandfather. His tribal name was Duroom which means “Custodian of Knowledge and Lore” ……

“Charlotte Brown inherited the custodianship of Yar Birrain Lore from her Grandfather King Brown of Wollumbin who was the keeper of the first Origine’ Lore of this continent – the Skinlore, Kinship and Starlore  Bootheram’s of the Rainbow Serpent and Nguthungulli, our Father – God,  who gave  us the ancient Origine’ Lore……and Charlotte had six Ngarakbul siblings…….three sisters and three brothers who are also inheritors of the Lore “……..

“We are the Bird Tribes ….we didn’t come here , we were made here, by Nguthungulli – he is the creator”

“Stan was my Grandfather and Charlotte, his mother, taught him this important Ngarakbul Bootheram Lore for the preservation of the custodial knowledge of our Origine’ people  ….Millie Boyd was also one of the children of Charlotte and Euston and protected the waterlore of the Ngarakbul Githabul….. The same lore has been faithfully passed down in my family since the beginning of the dreamtime …This is how my grandparents taught us to protect our Lore……. ”

“Stan was given gave custodial obligation of our peoples Feathered Serpent Bootheram Lore – this same lore has been faithfully passed down in my family since the beginning of the dreamtime …and he taught me our Lore about Yar-Birrain our tribal ancestors”….

“Way back in the Dreamtime the birds  had flown from Mount Brown on the Richmond Range in Githabul country to claim the prehistorical landscape from the ancient beings…..the birds gave us our language, songlines, territories and pathways…Parrot flew down to Evans Head, that’s how there came to be a Bandjalang tribe”…..

“Mount Brown is where all the birds got together and spoke their language….  They was talking Gullyval, Muli, Gidabal,  and this giant prehistoric bird came up and frightened them…….Parrot flew down there to Evans Head, that’s how there came to be the Bandjalang tribe……  And the wounded parrot flew back near Lismore and then out to Casino….. you can see a gully there, and they reckon the waters blood red, where he settled…….. And Turkey flew here, to Yar-Birrain wounded”……

“Turkey flew east from Mount Brown to Mount Warning and he stood right on the point and he was wounded on the head with a spear…That’s why Yar -Birran has that crooked bend in his neck……and Turkey claimed the territory for the Ngarakbul“……

Charlotte sang her lore for Roland Robinson,  the Ngarakbul ‘portion’ of the transcontinental song line of Australia…She sang the creation lore of her inherited ancestral country and it’s central significant/sacred Mountain – Yar Birrain because of the civil rights campaign of the 1950 and 60’s  ……  it is our most sacred lore.  It is called the Fairy Emu Dreaming and it goes like this”………

…”….A big rock stands in the sea six miles from Byron Bay

A man named Nguthungulli made that rock. Nguthungulli is our Father. He’s the Father of the whole world. He’s the man we’ve got to be afraid of. No matter what we do wrong, or where we do it, He’ll know. And no man has seen Him…”……

“….Nguthungulli had a cave in the rock.  After he made the rock, he told the four fairy woman, ‘gilarmavell’, to stay there…”.

“….Then he went away from there and walked inland from the coast.  He traveled over the mountains with his dog Korung.  He had a walking stick, and when he put the stick into the ground He left behind a stone like a basin..”…..

“…The old people knew that the sea was out there.  They knew that whichever way the butheram, the story of Nguthungalli went, it was towards the sea, Borrgorr.  You can hear the sound of the sea in that word.  They had seen then that we were on an island.”……….

“….Nguthungulli has big rocks in the Borrgorr,  the sea, where he lives today.  Out in the caves in those rocks in the sea, Nguthungulli has four daughters and one son.  And his son is called Yar Birrain…”….

“He had no time to make tea or anything….He had to keep going day after day and rest at night until he got to where Nguthungulli was in the rocks in the “borrgorr‘, the sea, in the sunset .”….

He wanted them for his own barnyunbee, his property, his totem.  When the emu’s came to the sea, they lay down on the beach.  When Wao came up close to those emu’s, a fairy  fairy man called Tjoolorr came out of the sea and asked Wao, “what are you after?”……

” Wao said, I’m after them, pointing to those emu’s.”…..

Tjoolorr said, “You can’t take them.  They belong to Nguthungulli“…”…….

Tjoolorr asked Wao what he wanted to do and Wao said he wanted to stay three days,  “Borrorr yabborr“.  That means ‘two and one’ – three days.

And when Wao had stayed there three days, the fairy man ‘Yar Birrain‘ came and took Wao out to the rocks in the sea.  But Wao couldn’t see Yar Birrain…….. Yar Birrain took Wao out to the rocks in the sea where Nguthungulli is…….  Wao stayed three days inside that rock……. And the fairy women told him, “you cant see Nthung, Father.  You can hear him talking, but you can’t see him.”….Yar Birrain told Wao too,  “You can’t see Father, though you can hear him when he talks.”….emu dragonfly milkyway

Wao stayed there only three days and then left that place.  Wao couldnt open the door by himself, not Wao, he couldn’t. Yar Birrain opened the door and told him not to look back when he put his foot down on the path over the sea, but to go straight for land.”…..

“When Wao landed back on the beach, he was back with Tjoolorr.  He had come to Tjoolorr.  When Wao came to the beach where Tjoolorr was, Nguthungulli made a song about Wao…He said “I can’t give you those emu’s, but i will give you this song”…emu n his chicks3

“Then Nguthungulli sang this song to Wao:…….”…..

“Ah, Wao, why were you walking after those two fairy emu’s?”.

Wao, that was your brothers spirit, those fairy emu’s.”

“Those emu’s are Mine.  I own them again.”

“Those emu’s your brothers spirit, have come back to Me…”….

“Then Wao travelled back to this country and brought the song back with him.”…….

That’s the Lore my Grandfather and Great Grandmother Charlotte taught me…it is our most sacred Bootheram – it is the lore of the creation of our sacred land ….this continent  “……

Fingal, Point Danger, Mount Warning & McPherson Range – Initiation Songline

Julgumboonj from the McPherson ranges - O ReilysFingal Headland, Point Danger,   Mount Warning and the McPherson Range are a matrix of  significant Origine’ sites which together form a sacred Initiation Songline for the Bird Tribes of Eastern Australia…..

“I want to share with you an important Ngarakbul Githabul creation Lore about our Sky Ancestors, Burrajahnee and Inneroogun…Two sacred dogs …. This is a “Boodharam gawari”, which means story ‘run’, or Songline, with all of the associated djurebil, sacred sites, connected across the landscape, and in the sky”…..

“It is an Initiation Songline which follows annual star paths …and those two dogs can be seen in the sky at special  times each  year, so our people know when the initiations are to begin”…. “It instructs initiates into Ancestor Lore about hunting rights, access and skinlore relationships….The Ngarakbul spirit being ‘Wollumbin’, a feathered serpent totemic being – is spirit man – a wild turkey who lives inside the volcano caldera with his nephew ‘Burrigan’ since the Dreamtime.

“A tribal Grandfather/Uncle is very significant in Skinlore riBora ceremonytes, and so is the kinship Skinlore of nephew/initiate…..This  Bootheram teaches the initiate about the crime of  Greed when Wollumbin is robbed, and the  perpetrators punished”….

“Theft is a very serious crime in any global culture….For our people the landscape and the sky are the story board that teaches us this first lore and all our ancestral lore….Our Lore never needed to be written down…It was given to us by Nguthungulli –God – and it never changes, because no man or corporation or government can change the stars”….

“The whole of the Wollumbin Caldera has many significant Starlore, Marriage Lore, Creation Lore, Increase and Initiation ritual sites, which we call ‘Djurebil’ that tell our creation stories…every time we look at or walk in those ancient mountains, and every time we gaze at the stars we are reminded of our ancestors and of the sacred lore obligations they gave us”….

“Way back when Nguthungulli descended to earth and  made the first Bird Tribes, he made Wollumbin, the Headman of Ngarakbul, and Wollumbin owned two dogs…. one male and one female…… each dog has djurebil at Mount Warning, and Fingal Head…. and their bodies create many significant peaks all along the McPherson Range……. running up from ‘Coolhoon’, which is one of our words for the Blue Fig or Quandong tree growth cycle…….Coolhoon is also what the Ngarakbul call Point Danger at Tweed Heads”….Cooloon - 1894 map ...murrabah mounds of stones

“The river and headlands were very different before occupation….There was no state border and there used to be caves and many basalt crystal rock formations the same as at Puningbah, Fingal…… These giant crystals ran from Coolhoon [Point Danger] all the way down  along the stretch of  coast called  Byron Bay and all were called Puning, which means echidna, because ….From Currumbin to Coorumbah, Cape Byron”….

“There was a sacred basalt island in the entrance of the Tweed River as well…sacred to the black dog spirit…. But all those crystals were blown up to build the break-walls and the railways,  and our old people were forced to relocate from the Aboriginal Reserve which was also in the river entrance….it’s gone now too..reclaimed as a part of Greenbank Island”.

“The authorities were clever – they put a border right at the djurebil site of the star initiation rites….They made the New South Wales and Queensland Border and severed the ancestral lore most effectively…….. The Rainbow Serpent Traditions, Lore’s and Customs were slated for genocide and to survive became forced underground….and  still being ignored by the authorities today…which is a great shame for our endangered culture and the endangered species it honours”……

Burrajahnee and Inneroogun, those two spirit dog, chased a kangaroo along the big bay…… Then they chased him over the volcano to Boonah, near Beaudesert, in Queensland”…..

“Those dogs kept chasing that kangaroo and eventually came to water and then lay on the bank….. While they slept two young girls from a nearby camp came, saw the dogs, and went off to bring more people down to the river…. After spearing the two dogs, they put them on a pole and began cooking them over a fire….. fire in Ngarakbal Githabul is Weybra ”…….

“Wollumbin, the Turkey Spirit, had followed his dogs and knew they had been killed……. He flew down onto the Boonah flat where his dogs were being cooked and he was so furious that he caused a wild storm to come and punish the people…Killing the whole tribe”…

“Wollumbin then took the  corpses of his dogs off the fire, wrapped them in bark, and as he flew across the country, parts of the dogs’ bodies dropped onto the ground below and formed djurebil in the the landscape….the male dog creating the rim of the volcano which is now known as the McPherson Ranges- Springbrook & Lamington National Parks…and the female creating the smaller ranges of Terranora, Tumbulgum and Kynumboon on back towards Yar-Birrain, Mount Warning”……

“My Great Grandfather, Euston Williams, was the chainman for Phinney MacPherson who surveyed and named the rugged McPherson Ranges of the New South Wales Queensland Border with the Roberts survey team and worked with Edwin Johnson who surveyed Coolhoon …… Lore, Land and Language are linked, so the surveyors used Ngarakbal Githabal language on the original maps”…..

Coolhoon - 1913 - Aboriginal ReserveHenry Brown was one of the first white men at Coolhoon – Tweed Heads – and Brown manned the first Pilot Station at the head of the river…his British name was given to some of our old tribal people…but before the white man came we all had skin names given to us by our creation ancestors…and we are related through kinship traditions from that same time”…..

“In the beginning time Warazum the Rainbow Serpent and Wiangarie the Seven Sisters created and seeded the landscape in readiness for Nguthungulli, our Father, to create the people  and teach us the lore…..Nguthungulli made all the animals, including the Bird Tribes and then gave us our feathered serpent traditions lore’s and customs…..Our totemic tribal names. Our Skinlore”…..

Western Mcpherson - view to Julgumboonj - mt Lindsey - from O Rielys

”Every evening our Sky Ancestors travel across the heavens, just as they have done since the alcheringa – the beginning……… Alcheringa is also the name of our sacred waterfall high in the Lamington National Park….a fountainhead of spiritual knowledge….  it  is where Wollumbin placed those two sacred dogs last remains  before he took their spirits back into the sky”…

“Tribes would travel from all over the ancestral estates to attend star ceremonies at the Coowarragum Lore Ring ‘complex’ below the Pinnacle to celebrate seasonal harvest, sacred marriage, the elements and the Sky Ancestor spirits ………and, when the time was right, it was also a centre for initiates, male and female, to attend their ‘Nyirgi’ training for initiation through the First Rule; and ‘Magihyn‘ – second level initiation lore”…….

“The Bootheram of Burrajahee and Inneroogun the two dog spirit Sky Ancestors was taught to all ‘Nyirgi’  initiates…...it has many layers and lore metaphors…… and the beginning of the Songline was always told by the Headman of each area…and because it begins at Cooloon it was commenced by Joe Calhum [Cooloom]a Ngarakbul man”…..

“Old Joe was from the tribal clan on the river at Cooloon but he resided at Mulli Mulli Aboriginal Reserve near Woodenbong with my Great Grandparents, Euston Williams and Charlotte Brown… the old people had been sent to Mulli Mulli after colonial settlement took their ancestral lands and forced relocation from the coastal labour camps …many Calhum descendants live in Woodenbong still”…..

The Bootheram of Burrajahee and Inneroogun the two dog spirit Sky Ancestors teaches the first ‘Nyirgi’ Lore – “DON’T BE GREEDY”…it goes like this”….

Joe Culhum - Cooloon
Joe Culhum – Cooloon

“Where the north-eastern border of NSW & the south-eastern border of Qld meet lies the rugged MacPherson Range, and on this range there is a plateau known to the white man as Lamington Plateau…….. Many long years ago in the Dreamtime, in a very young world, there lived an old man and his nephew on the Lamington Plateau. The Old man and his nephew had two dogs of which they were very fond……The dogs were named Burrajahnee and Inneroogun”….

“One day Burrajahnee and Inneroogun saw a kangaroo.  They chased it down the side of the plateau.  When the old man and his nephew saw the dogs chasing the kangaroo, they called out to them… “Burrajahnee and Inneroogun, come back to us!”……

“The dogs took no notice for they were excited by the chase.  Some people from a tribe that lived near the plateau also saw the dogs chasing the kangaroo…..  When they saw the kangaroo running towards the lagoon, they placed two nets in the pathway…….. The kangaroo was big and strong.  He got through the first net, he got through the second net, jumped into the lagoon and turned into a bunyip; and there he lives to this day”….

Koorumbyn - Kangaroo“Burrajahnee and Inneroogun also got through the first net, but they were caught in the second one…… The people who had tried to catch the kangaroo killed the two dogs, saying to each other “they will serve us as food as well as the Kangaroo…… We shall light a fire and cook them”….  And they did”.

“When the dogs failed to return the old man and nephew were sad, because they knew some evil had befallen them……..  They went to look for their dogs, and tracked them down the side of the plateau to the place where the fire had been lit, calling out “Burrajahnee and Inneroogun come back to us”….. Great was the anger of the old man and his nephew when they found their dogs had been killed and cooked…….  The old man sent a big cyclone to destroy the people who had killed Burrajahnee and Inneroogun”…..

“The uncle and the nephew picked up the dogs, wrapped them in bark, and carried them reverently back to the plateau…….. Whenever any part of the dogs, such as a foreleg or foot, fell off as they were being carried back to the plateau the placed was named after it and is known by the same name to this day”…..

“On the way back to the plateau they came to a waterfall……  They climbed to the top and sat down and rested placing their burdens on the ground…… One of them faced in one direction and the other facing in the opposite direction….. There the remains of the two dogs Burrajahnee and Inneroogun were turned into stone”…..

“Those two dogs are still to be seen at the top of the waterfall. One facing in one direction and the other in the opposite direction”……

“The stone dogs are sacred – No man dares to touch them….. To the tribe of people who are descendants of the old man the stone dogs will always be sacred, and the part of the plateau were they began to chase the kangaroo is called Goonbundah”…..

“Stan Williams was my Grandfather and Charlotte Brown, was his Ngarakbul mother from Tweed Heads;  and his tribal uncle, was Joe Calhoun…..These are all first settlers names, not Origine’ Skinlore-names – they had to take the settlers names to survive “……

“The last initiated Ngarakbul and Githabul tribal Elders  taught Stan  all the Feathered Serpent Bootheram Lore and invested in him the preservation of the custodial knowledge and traditions of our Origine’ people, after British occupation” ……

“ Stan Williams held the Bootheram Lore intact …….The same lore has been faithfully passed down in my family since the beginning of the Dreamtime …This is how our grandparents taught us to love and care for country, and each other,  and to continue the sacred rituals to ‘increase’ the animals, plants and sacred waters….. To Love and Protect all of the gifts given to us by the Great Spirit “…….

“That’s the Lore my Grandfather taught me “……

Cudgen Lake – “Coodgen Headland” Kingscliff & the Rainbow Serpent

-Coodgen Lake and its Headland, Kingscliff, is a most significant sacred site of the Ngarakbul people…the Ngarakbul are the marriage clan of the Githabul

“I want to share with you a creation Bootheram about Skinlore marriage lore which links the two volcano’s together – from the stars……  This Bootheram that was related by my Ngarakbul Great Grandmother  Charlotte Brown from the Tweed Volcano where Yar Birrain [Mt Warning] is the centrepiece of the Ngarakbul ancestral estate……it aligns with a sacred Lake – Coogen Lake” – which flows to the sea at Kingscliff , once known as Coogen Headland”….

This story governs all of our kinship skinlore and it comes directly from the Star Ancestors…..it is written in the sky and into our ancestral landscapes…it is very sacred to our people”.

Euston Williams – Githabul – Skinlore marriage – Charlotte Brown – Ngarakbul

“Charlotte Brown inherited the custodianship of Yar Birrain from her Grandfather King Brown of Wollumbin who was the keeper of the first Origine’ Lore of this continent – the Skinlore, Kinship and Starlore  Bootheram’s of the Rainbow Serpent and Nguthungulli [God]  who gave us the Lore”…..

“It tells of a sacred union between our two volcano tribes …the Ngarakbul and the Githabul in an ancient tribal Skinlore Marriage from the Dreamtime……back then there lived a young beautiful girl called Kumbarra.  Her people were the Beereen people of the Ngarakbul moiety”….

“At the time there was a great war, for the Githabul were fighting the Ngarakbul….and while the tribesmen were fighting the girl saw a handsome valiant warrior, Burrigan, wearing feathers in his hair, who is the champion…..and when the fighting was over a great corroboree was held and Kumbarra was given in marriage to the victorious Burrigan“……

“On her journey to her new husbands country everywhere Kumbarrra travels she plants the “Boorlum” or Ti-Tree……when she comes to the border of  Ngarakbul country she encounters an old uncle of Burrigan, and he tries to steal her by impersonating the young warrior….Kumbarra realises the plot and begins to run, so the old uncle calls up a magic fish called Warragun, who is the rainbow serpent to form a living bridge…..when the old uncle steps upon the bridge Burrigan commands the serpent to roll over and the uncle is drowned for breaking lore”

“Our creation Lore is ‘written’ into the geological formations of our country – and at night the sails across the vault of heaven…..it can never be changed because it is written in the stars which Nguthungulli, our Father,  created” ……

” A very sacred story of divine marriage , made in heaven …….Man, Woman, a Serpent and a Sacred Tree….. The celestial Adam and Eve from Genesis”

“This same lore has been faithfully passed down in my family since the beginning of the dreamtime …This is how my  Great Grandmother Charlotte taught me our Lore about our Star Ancestors ….it is called “Boorlum Bootheram” , the Ti-Tree Dreaming“……

“DAWNTIME…when all creation was created – there were also people of the Spirit World made.  Now the name of the Good Spirit people is Wooyun – Wooyung ….. They are a kind of fairy people.  You may behold these people for they look like ordinary mortals,  but they are only seen for a little while” …. leho-leva-and-wollumbin-nite-sky-1-small

“It happened that one day the fairy people were travelling down to Coogen Heads and with them was a lovely young fairy girl.  Now this girl had been promised in marriage to a young man brave as he was handsome,  for he was in charge of a Bora Ring – the sacred Ring – to where all young men must go for the initiation Ceremony so that they may be proclaimed men of their tribe.  For a man to be placed in charge of a Bora Ring he must indeed be a good man,  so all the people of the tribe many know that he is worthy to be placed in charge of the SACRED BORA Ring”…..

Kingscliff - cudgen headland“When the time had come that the young fairy woman had reached womanhood she thought of the man,  the young man to whom she had been given in marriage when a child.  The dawn had kissed many days and the stars had kissed many nights since she had seen him last.  Then one day she saw him in at Coogen Heads – she knew he was the man to whom she was promised in marriage – for her heart told her so”.

coogen headland

“When the battle had been fought at Coodgen Heads, the young man went to his home at Meeahan, which is the name by which Crown Mountain  was known to the tribe of the young man.  So the fairy woman set forth to seek her lover – she came to Meehaan, and the people of there told her “yes ! the young man whom you seek and who will be your husband came home but is gone again”..So she set forth on her journey of seeking her husband,  carrying with her the bark of the Ti-tree, she had brought with her from Coogen Heads”…..

“This Bootheram was collected from my Great Grandmother Charlotte Williams [nee Brown] by Mildred Norledge who interviewed Charlotte on Radio and published the Ti-Tree Dreaming in the Dawn Magazine in the 1950’s….”

“Cudgen is very sacred to both men and women of our Culture…the red soil has great spiritual significance to our people and our creation lore …this sacred landscape represents the beginning of the transcontinental Songline of Australia – on the land and in the stars of the Milkyway”

“ Cudgen Lake – that’s the beginning of the Rainbow Serpent SUMMER SOLSTICE Star Lore, Marriage Lore, my Great Grandmother taught me – it is sacred to our Women and their StarLore of the Seven Sisters, which tells of the creation,  and our ‘connection to country’ through our Grandmother Lore ……this same creation lore links our moieties together across Australia…”…..

Easy-Money – Claiming Ab-Originality

Billy Terribah/Didiba Andrews (father of Elizabeth “Lizzie” Boyd)

It’s become ‘trendy’ [and profitable] to claim descent from aboriginal blood…and many greedy souls are scurrying to feed at the trough – draining the limited funding allotted to struggling and disadvantaged Aboriginal peoples ……But how would you tell if someone really is an Aboriginal , or a fraud?

One of the by-products of human consciousness is self-consciousness, that is, knowing deeply that you are alive….And part of self-consciousness is also wondering where we came from; it’s clearly human nature to seek one’s roots.

For some people, that task is relatively easy because there are oral legends or written words that go back at least several generations (assuming family history is passed down accurately). But for most people, the path backwards is rocky, cluttered with confusing detour signs, or simply blank…..

Brunswick Heads Aboriginal Reserve
Closeup of the Brunswick Aboriginal Reserve

The recording of Origine’ culture was not a priority for colonial settlers in Australia……after initial invasion and occupation surviving peoples were incarcerated into Labour Camps and Reserves;  all distinct individual tribal countries were obliterated and all individual clans homogenised under the blanket classification of ‘Aborigines’, from one side of the continent to the other….in the subsequent decades the white Australia policies set about claiming the native bloodlines were on the decline –  dying out.

Several generations later many ‘white’ Australians are often excited to discover they may have aboriginal connections, and some even perceive there will be lucrative perks….native title claims and ILUA’s with the lure of potential ‘trust funds’ fuels the [all too] human ‘greed gene’…….and Reconciliation process trained the population to not ask to many questions [ its supposedly racist?]…..

But with billion dollar lands, mineral and development deals often at stake, why cant the public ask questions? ….Don’t the people have a right to question what actually constitutes an Aboriginal person and how much ‘ab-originality’ should someone possess in order to be given access to assets ?

Legal historian, John McCorquodale, has reported that since the time of white settlement, governments have used no less than 67 classifications, descriptions or definitions to determine who is an Aboriginal person… Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody, National Report (1991), Commonwealth of Australia, Canberra [11.12.5].

The Australian Law Reform Commission [ALRC] discussed the definition of an ‘Aborigine’ in its 1986 report, The Recognition of Aboriginal Customary Laws…….. The ALRC noted that early attempts at a definition tended to concentrate on descent, without referring to other elements of Aboriginality……. Problems arose in deciding whether descendants of unions between Aborigines and settlers were to be regarded as Aboriginal for the purposes of various restrictive or discriminatory laws [for example, disentitling Aborigines from voting or enrolling to vote]. In applying these restrictive laws, tests based on ‘quantum of blood’ were commonly applied….. ¼, ¾, or half caste, etc.

The Commonwealth Parliament obtained the power to legislate with respect to people of ‘the aboriginal race in any State’ in the 1967 referendum…… Aboriginal people were finally granted the legal status of being Human…. The Commonwealth subsequently enacted a number of statutes for the purpose of providing certain rights and privileges for the exclusive benefit of Indigenous Australians……. These statutes have generally defined an Aboriginal or Indigenous person as ‘a person who is a descendant of an indigenous inhabitant of Australia’, or a member or a person ‘of the Aboriginal race of Australia’.

These individual Aboriginal statues marks the inception of what will develop into a hidden apartheid system – an alternative legislative pathway which uses aboriginal legislation as a means of sidestepping ‘interference’ by the greater Australian community……..only for aboriginals  and operated by bureaucrats.

In the early 1980s, the Commonwealth Department of Aboriginal Affairs proposed a new three-part definition of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.

An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which he [or she] lives.

But what if the community he [or she] lives in is dominated by a culture of whole families fraudulently claiming aboriginality?

Then the Federal government departments adopted the definition as their ‘working definition’ for determining eligibility to certain services and benefits. The definition continues to be applied administratively in relation to programs such as Abstudy funding for tertiary students, or aboriginal housing and health services, etc.

These ‘freebies’ led a lot of multi-cultural Australians, living comfortable regional existences far removed from the struggles of the remnant tribes existences on reserves, to suddenly become interested in claiming aboriginal descent [no matter how removed]

The ‘bucket’ of cash which was allocated for ATSI programs became swamped with applications from all over…..but the bucket has a fixed amount and the more mouths ‘sucking’ on the tit, the less funds go to the truly disadvantaged…..this eventually ended with remote aboriginal communities loosing funding and having to be relocated yet again, their culture dispersed…..a sick cycle of dispossession continues….

The greedy fever of ‘easy-money’ has seen aboriginal identification proliferating…with the catch-cries of “compensation” infecting the memberships of Aboriginal Lands Councils and welfare departments…. and most recently, the native title process….. with circumspect individuals claiming to descended from apical ancestors  Origine’ families…….and even filing native title claims without the Origine’ families knowledge , let alone consent.

Origine’ Ngarakbal and Githabul descendants of the Yoocum-Yoocum moiety – 1910 – these people were incarcerated in the Nerang Aboriginal Reserve on the Gold Coast

In his story on the business of bloodlines Tony Koch, a Chief Reporter in Queensland for the Australia Newspaper, explains…..

http://www.tony-koch.com/index.php?page=home

“There is pride in discovering an Aboriginal family background, but some people lie about it to gain undeserved benefits”

“In the days when the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander commission existed and squandered much of  its billion-dollar budget like a drunken sailor, Aboriginality to a scheming, dishonest person meant possible access to high-paying positions of authority in legal, housing, employment or native title organisations where accountability was often little more than a joke”….. ,Kosh writes.

Aboriginal academic and co-chairwoman of Reconciliation Australia Jackie Huggins told Kosh how people would contact ATSIC or Centrelink claiming they had discovered that a fictitious grandparent was Aboriginal.

“The calls would get to me and these people would ask what special benefits they were therefore entitled to claim,” Huggins said.

“I would say: ‘This is what you will get — life expectancy of 20 years less than non-indigenous Australians, and if you are a woman, add three years; you will get sick and tired of going to funerals; probably get diabetes before age 40, and if not, kidney, heart or lung failure will kill you before you are 60’.

“Spiritually and culturally, there is a treasure trove of benefits. …..

“I am sick of people wrongly claiming that economic or special welfare benefits flow to Aboriginal people. It is just not true. I would recommend an ATSIC publication titled Matter of Fact which spells out the truth for all to see.”

On April 20, 1998, Federal Court Justice Merkel handed down a 120-page decision in Shaw and Another v Wolf and Others. A key element in that judgement establishing the status of Aboriginality was the declaration that to be Aboriginal one must, among other things, be descended from the inhabitants of Australia at the time immediately BEFORE European settlement.

Several key Native Title Indigenous Lands Use Agreements [ILUA] have been signed in New South Wales by ‘Aboriginals’ who could not show their connection to country from BEFORE the mid 1800’s ……………….This resulted in Native Title NOT being achieved, and having to be surrendered…..either Extinguished ….or in exchange for DEVELOPMENT….click on the below links to view the ILUAs of the Byron Bay Bundjalung which extinguished Ngarakbal Native Title without consent of the moiety.

http://www.nntt.gov.au/searchRegApps/NativeTitleRegisters/Pages/ILUA_details.aspx?NNTT_Fileno=NI2006/004

The most celebrated case of disputed Aboriginality occurred in the Queensland sugar coast town of Bundaberg in 2000 when claims were made by one branch of the Appo family that more than 100 members of their family were of Sri Lankan descent not Aboriginal, and were wrongly receiving concessional loans and benefits said to total millions of dollars over three decades.

Tony Kosh’s research revealed that, “There were allegations of wrongly claimed business and legal assistance, and even other claims that some family members were selected in state and national indigenous sporting teams despite not having Aboriginal heritage”.

“The issue came to a head on July 21, 2000 when Allan Keith Appo, then 66, was charged in the Bundaberg magistrate’s court with possessing undersized and female mudcrabs”.

“In his defence Appo claimed that the Fisheries Act did not apply to him because he was Aboriginal and therefore he could fish without restriction”.

“However, Department of Primary Industries legal officers researched Appo’s genealogy and presented generations of birth, death and marriage certificates showing his heritage was purely Sri Lankan”, Kosh states

“Magistrate John Brennan found Appo was not aboriginal and fined him $2300. ………Ironically, Appo was represented by Townsville Aboriginal Legal Aid which also funded his appeal to the District Court — where he lost again……..Appo, who has since died, said in an interview with me at the time that he had documented evidence from locals who swore he had Aboriginal blood”, Kosh recorded

Kosh was told by Appo that his reasoning for perpetuating the fraud: “If this decision holds, my children and their children will be affected because they will not be eligible for Aboriginal programs,” he lamented.

Spokesperson for the branch of the Appo family opposing him, Julie Appo, said at the time that it was destructive to real Aboriginal people to see jobs and program concessions going to people not entitled to such claims.

She told Kosh that “This deprives a genuine Aboriginal person of getting a job, position, a wage — and thereby providing something for his children to aspire to,” she said.

Kosh had found that earlier, in January 1995, another Appo family member from Bundaberg was also caught by fisheries inspectors with undersized and female crabs. He was charged and used the defence of Aboriginality, but was found guilty because birth certificates showed he did not have Aboriginal heritage.

He was fined $2700. Despite that conviction he continued to vote at ATSIC elections, claim Abstudy grants for his children and sell Aboriginal art.

He revealed his two brothers and a sister, his wife and his five children “all went through school on Abstudy”.

At that time Aboriginal corporation administrator, Garry Hamilton, of the Brisbane legal firm Minter Ellison, stated that the incidence of non-eligible people claiming Aboriginality for financial benefits was “rampant”.

He told how he had been appointed as administrator at Dalaipi Aboriginal Corporation at Caboolture, north of Brisbane in the mid-1990s. “The former administrator of this organisation just let anybody in,” he said. “There was an incredible number of white Australians with no Aboriginal connections at all getting benefits. It was so bad I just had to close the place down.” He told Kosh

There are many who have suggested that MtDNA testing could be introduced to determine Aboriginality.

The Australian Law Reform Commission tabled a report in May 2003 titled  – ‘Essentially Yours: The Protection of Human Genetic Information in Australia (ALRC Report 96)’ – it was the product of a two-year inquiry by the ALRC and the Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC), involving extensive research and widespread public consultation. The inquiry was the most comprehensive ever undertaken into these issues in Australia or overseas.

The report covers an extensive range of activities in which genetic information plays—or soon will play—an important role. The two-volume, 1200 page report makes 144 recommendations about how Australia should deal with the ethical, legal and social implications of the New Genetics.

Dr Loretta de Plevitz and Larry Croft summarised the four major barriers to proving Aboriginality by means of genetics as follows:

“Firstly.… there is no such thing as a genetically differentiated ‘race’: we are all one species.

Secondly … if race is defined by cultural and genetic context, then there are difficulties in proving membership of the ‘Aboriginal race’ as on this definition there were hundreds of Aboriginal races pre-1788.

Thirdly,….looking at the polymorphisms in an individual’s DNA shows us who they are related to. But this just defers the problem of whether those people related to the claimant are Aboriginal or not.

Fourthly…….who could the claimant’s genetic inheritance be tested against? It would be necessary to construct DNA reference groups based on ‘pure blood’ Aboriginal people covering all geographic groups in Australia. If by chance one of the reference DNA groups was very similar to the claimant’s then we can show descent … as the Australian Aboriginal population is so genetically diverse, there would need to be a large reference set of people for all genetically distinct groups …

Where there has been the wholesale extermination of entire groups of people, claimants attempting to prove their Aboriginality may not be related to any of the reference groups because there is no longer a reference group for them “…….L de Plevitz and L Croft,  13 March 2002.

Dr de Plevitz is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law, Queensland University of Technology; Mr Croft is employed by the Institute for Molecular Biosciences, University of Queensland.

“Though possibly an improvement on ‘blood’ quantum definitions, the utility of this summary can still be questioned, not least of all on the grounds that there is no such thing as an Aboriginal race. Most scientists long ago stopped using the word ‘race’…”..….Department of Aboriginal Affairs, Report on a Review of the Administration of the Working Definition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (1981), Commonwealth of Australia, Canberra, cited in J Gardiner-Garden, The Definition of Aboriginality: Research Note 18, 2000–01 (2000)

However, genetic kinship and ancestry testing has important limitations in practice. First, it relies on the availability of reference samples for comparison. If a living person wishes to establish that he or she is a member of a particular family group, the person must find someone within that group who can provide a genetic sample for the purpose of comparison. This becomes more difficult where a person seeks to establish a biological relationship with a person or family group that has been dead for years, decades or centuries.

The Human Genetics Society of Australia agreed that, in the absence of archival genetic material, genetic testing that identifies particular polymorphisms among a group might support the contention of common ancestry, but would not prove it definitively:

The relative isolation and small population base of indigenous peoples of Australia prior to European settlement makes it very likely that the frequency of many genetic polymorphisms in pre-European contact indigenous peoples differed from that of Europeans. Such differences may be expected to vary across the continent. A polymorphism absent or rare in Europeans but common in an ancestral indigenous population is likely to persist at a higher frequency in the descendants of that population than in peoples of European descent. Its presence at an appreciable frequency in a group claiming common ancestry would support the contention of common ancestry but not prove it. Its presence or absence in any given individual would not establish or refute membership of the group. None of the above, in the absence of archival genetic material, could establish association with a geographical location. Cultural and genealogical information is more likely to provide evidence of association between a group of indigenous individuals and a geographical location than genetic information.

John Presser, a forensic scientist, commented in a submission:  “In conjunction with other information, especially lineage or family trees, mtDNA is informative as to aboriginality where an unbroken female lineage exists. But it is imperative to remember that if no ‘aboriginal’ sequence is found, this result is silent as to aboriginality, all you can say is that there is no direct female line of descent and the result is inconclusive. It does not prove non aboriginal descent”…J Presser

The overall outcome – The Inquiry considers that under no circumstances should any person be required to undergo genetic testing to establish their Aboriginal descent. Claiming this would have significant ethical implications, and would arguably constitute racial discrimination against Aboriginal persons.

In reality true ancestral Indigenous familial structures differ in cultural organisation and historic context…… with the notion that Aboriginal identity can be determined through a Eurocentric model of descent that privileges western familial structures, totally inappropriate.

Origine’ Skinlore Kinship systems are matristic ….derived from arranged marriages which cycle across blocks of 12 generations, radiating  in cyclic triangulation’s…all of which is tracked using celestial pentagram cycles – connecting people to country for millennia – through their GRANDMOTHERs lineage …..tracking MtDNA sequencing to ensure genetic health of the people.

Cooowarragum – the most eastern celestial Skinlore site of the Australian Continent

The Coowarragum stone complex at the Pinnacle is the first Skinlore site on the most eastern landmass of the Australian Continent to be ‘lit’ by those stars….it is located on the boundary of the ancestral estates of the Ngarakbal Githabul tribes of the Yoocum-Yoocum moiety…..it was recorded on the National Parks and Wildlife  Aboriginal Sites Registration in 1980 by Archaeologist Adrian Piper.

These same Ngarakbal descendants have been excluded and discriminated against.  Removed from recognition in the Byron Bay area apparently due to being able to prove their ancestral descent from BEFORE occupation….but then that wouldn’t have assisted the NSW government with achieving extinguishment of native title or a Development ILUA.

If true moiety groups were supported to be identified instead of the governments administrative  ‘Aboriginal Nations’ system –  which is currently being enforced through political propaganda to facilitate administration of the people and operate as an alternative legislative ‘development’ pathway which dispossesses all Australians ….perhaps if this happened then things would get better in aboriginal communities.

Perhaps, if traditional Skinlore kinship descent systems were used to identify true Aboriginal bloodlines and totemic lore custodians then instances of genetic fraud could be eradicated and the limited purse of Indigenous funding would actually make it to the destination it has been designed for…….

Crushing the Head of the Rainbow Serpent

Before there was a line on a map separating the Tweed, Byron and Gold Coast regions of Australia, before occupation , this area was the northern block of the original ‘Yoocum-Yoocum’ ancestral estate…some of the most coveted and prestigious real estate on the entire continent of Australia….A beautiful location, with a dark secret…

This specific east coast location was strategically chosen as the state borders of New South Wales and Queensland  by the Commonwealth forefathers to effectively ‘divide and conquer’ the Yoocum-Yoocum Aboriginal moiety through administration’– deftly eradicating their old world lore’ by drawing a line on a map where no line had ever been before ……Right through the very beginning of the Rainbow Serpent Culture of Australia…effectively crushing the head of the serpent, and creating a domino effect dispersing the Skinlore, Kinships and ‘connections-to-country’ right the way across the continent with one killer blow.

All Skinlore, Kinships and connections-to-country are derived from Origine’ Rainbow Serpent Culture, which unfurls in the heavens [above] the ancestral estates and is mirrored into each respective estates landscape [below]….. A pure unadulterated stream of culture that refreshes and revives, this same system inalienably connecting people to place through lore, land and language as old as time…

Showing connection-to-country from the celestial vault was how native title was first established by Eddie Mabo in the High Court….

Mabo spoke about the land and the stars ….the lore…revealing Malo’s lore (the law of the land) and the law of the Stars of the Tagai (the lore of the heavens) to show how his moieties tribal Skinlore, Kinships and connections to ancestral country gave his people their inalienable rights to tenure over their lands, and that they be acknowledged and returned…and they were.

However, since the success of Mabo – over-turning the law of Terra-Nullus – well, since that time, to thwart other Origine’ claimants the governance systems have employed all manner of administrative manipulations…perpetuating a  dark secret of dispossession and genocide in order for the commonwealth law to retain control in the land down-under.

History has been sanitised – books written, reports published and films funded promoting the ‘sanitised commonwealth history’….. Geospatial evidence- cadastral land maps [which get utilised in the native title court process] have been altered – mountains have been renamed, place names have been wrongfully attributed to appropriated linguistics, and revealing anthropological reports edited……

All and any pro-Rainbow Serpent Culture collated pre and post colonisation has been targeted and ‘buried’;  and apical ancestors and their traditional songs have been allowed to be procured by ‘strangers’ and corporations with no honouring of ancestral rites of passage….Adulterated documents  are being utilised in court processes endorsed by autocratic administration to extinguish native title of the continents first peoples.

beginning of the Queensland , New South Wales state borders – Coolangatta Tweed Heads – gazetted  through sacred serpent sites

It’s shocking, witnessing the methodical eradication of the matristic Rainbow Serpent Culture – Equally shocking is the autocratic enforcement of a contemporary Bundjalung migration story about a ‘climate catastrophe’ – the Three Brothers – replacing Rainbow Serpent prehistoric lore……A despotic governance blatantly using people from out-of-country to administrate these contemporary fables and sign off on extinguishment agreements.

Genocide and Apartheid [by pen] – in 2018 in Australia…..

But how can this be?

Easy!…Utilise administration to sanitise history just like every other invasion and occupation before……and hope that no-one will remember in a few generations.

Reversing Mabo’s legal legacy of federal native title rights and recognition they started to amend, amend, amend….slicing and dicing the newly ratified FEDERAL Native Title laws into malleable  STATE native title acts and regulations which bear no credence to Mabo’s trailblazing efforts……

These butchered State Native Title Acts create an impenetrable ‘wall”; operated by state native title services bodies that purportedly ‘provide legal aid’ to native title applicants [complements of the very same commonwealth the applicants are taking to court]…… no conflict of interest there…HA!…

Having spent decades and millions creating a most gruesome bureaucratic beast in native title, alongside a secret and even more sinister monster – State Aboriginal Lands Council law – Now all Australians are being secretly repressed. The country sold out.

But how can this be?

Easy….! Create an alternative legislative pathway.

Local Aboriginal Lands Councils [LALCs] have been given the same power as Municipal Shire Councils, but they are NOT representative of blood-line to country Traditional Owners…This is because any Origine’ person from anywhere in Australia can move to a new state or shire area and join the lands council there…they don’t have to be from that area originally, and once a member they can vote on outcomes affecting the new area……just as anyone else who  moves into a new shire becomes part of that municipal shire and is able to vote….there is absolutely no blood-line descent of the ancestral tribe required for membership to either shire council system….but, only Aboriginal people can join an LALC.

NSW Lands Dept map – showing the original Mount Wollumbin location BEFORE Geographical Names Board alteration , to claim Mount Warning exclusively as Bundjalung Nation

Local Aboriginal Lands Councils [LALCs] AGM’s are won by individuals whose family can get the most members at the meeting…… This allows larger family groups in the community to guide how the LALC makes decision and the outcomes of that area. …..Take a drive in your local land council boundary and having a look who is better off may surprise you……. Generally, it seems that traditional owners, native title claimants and native title holders who live in those LALC boundaries are worse off…….The system pits native title claimants AGAINST LALC members….classic apartheid processes

Of course the bureaucrats don’t actually let the Origine’ peoples [actually] control their aboriginal lands councils….When they need a specific outcome they [historically] sack everyone, claiming them incompetent, and put bureaucrat administrators in place …then they amend, amend, amend, the LALC’s legal acts and regulations so they can transfer thousands of crown and public properties into the LALC coffers ready to do lands deals and ILUAs – Indigenous Land Use Agreement

So ‘abracadabra’, a covert system that serves as an alternative legislative pathway to launder [the Australian people’s public lands and resources]; a system which has no onus for disclosure to the public magically appears…..it is Australia’s Hidden Apartheid – and it effectively dispossesses EVERYONE ……. except the bureaucrats….. And it achieves all this whilst simultaneously facilitating extinguishment of native title……

It’s utterly, brilliant diabolical genius …and truly mindboggling that individuals could have turned their minds and skills to crafting such [legal] instruments of mass destruction….knowingly eradicating what is arguably the oldest continuously surviving matristic law on the planet and replacing it with a relatively new biblical doctrine – all to validate colonial occupation.

A documented example of this type of stylised genocidal bureaucracy occurred in Yoocum-Yoocum lands south of the Gold Coast border….it might seem simply a government commissioned report being deliberately ignored….and what’s new about that?…but the consequences are reverberating  across time.

Anthropological materials commissioned and submitted to the Federal Court by the New South Wales Native Title Services in relation to the Byron Bay Bundjalung People [NTDA# NG6010/98 [NC95/01] & #3 N6020/01 [NC01/08] by Dr Frank McKeown of McKeown Ygoa & associates – in his report McKeown quotes Archibald Metson.

metson
Archibald Metson

Archibald Metson was a colonial administrator and ethnologist from the late 1800’s.  In 1894 he was commissioned to investigate the conditions of Aboriginals in the newly gazetted state of Queensland; despite his consequent proposals, only some of his ideas were embodied in the Aboriginal Protection and Restrictions of the Sale of Opium Act 1897……. And I should point out that Mr Meston was also the Southern Protector of Aboriginals for the state of Queensland from 1898 to 1903,…..and equally important,  Metson had spent his childhood in the region , growing up on a farm in the upper Clarence and visited the Tweed Byron area , including in 1870 and 1880 when he travelled through the region on foot and on horseback …But the point is that Archibald Metson , over a 30 year period,  recorded that the aboriginal population of the area spoke a dialect of the language called Yoocum-Yoocum, which he had learnt as a child while growing up in the Clarence

The Extract from page 21 of the McKeown Report [Bannister 1984, Metson 1880, 1923: McKeown 2005] created for New South Wales Native Title Services and provide to the federal court states;

“I spoke the Yoocum-Yoocum dialect which extended from the Logan River South to midway between the Clarence and Bellinger River, and all New England from Armidale to near Warwick, whence it was joined by the Wacca-Wacca of the Darling Downs, the dialect which came down the north side of the Brisbane River to the sea and Toorbul Point and down the Burnett to the sea at Bundaberg”..Metson 1923

“All the Tribes from Nerang to the Clarence spoke variations of the great “Yoocum-Yoocum” dialect [Yoocumbah], which went west to New England and down the head of the Condamine at Warwick, where it joined the Wacca-Wacca of the Darling Downs”….Metson 1894

Then ; Page’s 87-98 of the McKeown report [which you must remember was submitted as evidence to the Australian Federal Court by the New South Wales Native Title Services in relation to the Byron Bay Bundjalung People] also quotes Anthologist Radcliffe-Brown [1918,1929A, 1929B,1930] who refers to these same people as the Yukum or Yukumbil

“This large tribe, named in its negative [yukum=no] occupying the region of the Richmond and Clarence Rivers in the north of NSW and extending over the Qld Border.  Their country extends about 100 miles north and south and about 80- miles east and west.  Within the north there are considerable local differences in dialect, and a number of the sub-tribes are recognised.  The sub-tribe about which I have the most information is the Kidjabal [Githabul] of the country at the head of the Clarence River”…Radcliffe Brown 1929A:400

McKeown notes in his report that Radcliffe-Browns publications and unpublished field notes deal primarily with Githabul groups in the upper Clarence around Woodenbong, and mentions only in passing the “Minyanbal” sub-tribe [Radcliffe-Brown 1930:238]….. In his field notes there appears only one reference to Byron Bay, but it is unclear to what he is referring.  On the same page, he notes the presence of a “mob of Minyangbal at Tweed Heads”, and immediately below wrote “Ngarabal from Tweed Heads to Brunswick” McKeown 2005 : 89…….

This clear [and way to truthful] anthropological report was commission by the government department who were assisting the federal court to determine a decision – and it was not ‘helpful’ to creating the ‘required’ extinguishment of native title in Byron Bay at all – so, it was ignored.

All applicants who were identifying as ancestral Yoocum-Yoocum subtribes, like Ngarakbal were targeted and ostracised, and almost immediately the exclusive endorsement of Bundjalung as being the [endorsed] language commenced…..

Yoocum-Yoocum Rainbow Serpent Lore was quashed and the Bundjalung Nation myth unfurled…

But why?

To ensure the tenure of Australia remained with the Commonwealth and no land was actually returned to the Origine moieties, the bureaucracy’s concept of a ‘Bundjalung Nation’s’ legal authenticity needed to be accepted in the courts

But how would they do this?…

Easy!… by garnering the assistance of Local Aboriginal Lands Councils, whom anyone that identifies as aboriginal  can join; and enlisting community history and museum volunteers to provide ‘research ‘from [non-academic] government endorsed sources such as newspaper clippings; and then begin  subtlety  ‘tweaking’ the language attributions [acknowledgements] of local Geographical place names records to align with newly collated and created Bundjalung Nation language dictionaries…All funded by the state …….and hey presto – qualify that all [legal] lands records data and place names were homogenised [and reclassified] as being from Bundjalung Nation linguistics…….Wiping out all original tribal attributions from the geospatial records and creating an unfair advantage that ensured extinguishment of native title….

Geytenbeek 1971 – dialect map- Ian Fox 2003

Re-writing History – a tried and true method to validate occupation.

An extract from the introduction of the Margaret Sharpe Dictionary of Western Bundjalung, including Gidhabal and Tabulam Bundjalung, has been cited extensively to alter geographical place names and homogenise original individual dialect attributions in both Queensland and New South Wales …this one dictionary effectively altering Lands records data collated by numerous academics over a span of 90 years.

The extract in the Introduction of the dictionary states …….“Dialects of the language referred to by linguists as Bandjalang [or as spelt in English Bunjalung] were spoken in an area including the Northern Rivers area of NSW, the Gold Coast, north to the southern suburbs of Brisbane, and west to Warrick and Allora”

So, put simply what does all this mean?…..

The genocide of the Rainbow Serpent Culture and its replacement with a post-flood migration story to achieve extinguishment of native title.

Altering the geographical data, or lands records, language attributions was key to obstructing Federal Court Native Title Claims…..Significantly  because the original geographical place names attributions had been recorded in each original [individual] tribal dialect of each area when first surveyed in the 1880’s……

Ironically, those individual dialect records were precisely the legal evidence Origine’ owners required to achieve a positive determination of Native Title…..

GNB dual naming of mt Warning as Bundjalung
2006 Letter from the Geographical Names Board – the NSW State Government had gazetted the wrong mountain as Wollumbin and changed the original linguistic attribution to Bundjalung . Altering Lands Records to enact genocide – by pen

By allowing naive volunteers to make metadata submissions for geographical name changes of significant landscape features to State departments, which then became endorsed, gazetted and recorded by State government in the parliamentary Hansard and lands records files, protected the government from [actual] involvement –  but the outcome was to achieve the desired effect – dispossess ancestral moieties,  pervert the natural course of justice, and  facilitates State government ILUAs which culminates in the  extinguishment of federal native title …….

But, how these are altered Lands Records used in native title?

Well, the first national park in Australia to be created under an Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) with the traditional owners, the Byron Bay Bundjalung, as joint managers with the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) occurred in Yoocum-Yoocum ancestral lands in 2001 – State government created the brand  ‘new’ Arakwal National Park and the Bundjalung myth allowed state government to   extinguish Native Title and award a development ILUA to the Byron Bay Bundjalung Corporation…the first agreement of its kind in Australia, it worked so successfully this same process has swept across Australia.

http://www.atns.net.au/agreement.asp?EntityID=4731

Now, Ancestral Truth is being ignored again….the Government is trying to assimilate the whole of the Gold Coast region into this same created Bundjalung Nation…….the dark secrets spreading….

Margaret Sharpes dictionary introduction states …….“Dialects of the language referred to by linguists as Bandjalang [or as spelt in English Bunjalung] were spoken in an area including the Northern Rivers area of NSW, the Gold Coast, north to the southern suburbs of Brisbane, and west to Warrick and Allora”

http://www.nntt.gov.au/searchRegApps/NativeTitleClaims/NTDA%20Extracts/QC2017_007/QC2017_007%20Attachment%20C%20Map%20of%20Claim%20Area.pdf

The modus operandi?……. crush the head of the [Rainbow] Serpent by leaving  no ‘flicker’ of the Yoocum-Yoocum Cultural block  to smoulder….. in fact, since the Byron Bay ILUA was signed in 2001 a veritable wildfire, spreading this [created] contemporary administration propaganda ‘marketed’ to the world as the Bundjalung ‘Nation’, has exploded into a bonfire fed by the bureaucrats……with the Byron Bay ILUA 2 and the Ti-Tree Lake ILUA 3 signed in 2006- all without including the descendants of the apical Ngarakbal ancestors who’s traditional cultural and intellectual copyright they appropriated without consent…..

Lorraine Mafi- Williams protector of ancestral women’s Rainbow Serpent Lore was targeted and ostracised due to the systematic injustices created by the government systems

The sole goal of State Native Tile is to extinguish the inalienable rights of ancestral moieties ….and anyone who [stupidly] engages is legally extinguished and so too are all descendants of the people they claim to be representing……so, if a total stranger appropriates your great great grandparents culture and endorses it [to be changed] and then files a native title claim over your moieties ancestral country, well, whether you like it or not, your inalienable right is automatically extinguished too….

Today, the Yoocum-Yoocum bloodline are still being lied to, cheated, dispossessed and exploited….the bureaucracy is knowingly homogenising all of the ancestral culture in line with an ‘endorsed’ three brother migration story….

The Three Brothers is an appropriated Yoocum-Yoocum tribal migration story of arrival of another race in their lands after a great flood, and which [it’s no surprise] endorses the ‘biblical tenure’ of the great southern land just as the biblical story of the three sons of Noah was utilised to validate tenure, and extinguish inalienable rights over the tribal lands of Africa, Asia and pagan Europe in the medieval past…..

Seems that ‘old- style’ genocide by papal pen worked so well that’s its good enough for the federal courts of Australia now….

Ancient War in the Centre of the Earth – The Australian Indian Connection

Many think that Origine Lore, being an oral tradition, must be fallible…after all, how can [oral] truth be ‘held unbroken since the beginning’ when most people today can’t even keep ‘Chinese Whispers’ straight for more than three passes……….But what most don’t realise is that the stars, if you know how to read them [across the vault of heaven] actually hold all the creation lore, or Bootheram, as the Origine moieties call it…….and this knowledge of  specific stars and constellations form vast celestial calendars which ‘remind us to remember’ important global events

continental drift

One such global event is held in the oral traditions of the Bandjalang tribe of Evans Head on the east coast of New South Wales….it records a great war that took place between the matristic old world tribes [of the Feathered Serpent Traditions] battling patriarchal new world invaders who came from an area surrounding the Caspian Sea….these new world invaders travelled down to cripple the ancient tribes of northern India, pushing them to the south towards ancient Australia……

This war took place over 10,000 years ago…marking the beginning of the arrival of the ‘New World’ culture onto the southern continent of Australia after yet another global cataclysm had forced migration and evolutionary changes upon the planet….

This invading patriarchal culture would wage war over the matristic tribes of the northern hemisphere for thousands of years…with the only thing stopping them from completely invading Old World Australia being post cataclysmic sea level rise cutting Australia off from the northern land masses…thus preserving the Old World matristic Starlore culture.

The southern continent has held its ancestral matristic lore since the Alcheringa [the beginning of the Dreamtime]…several million years – and several ice-ages….during this time many invaders have arrived…..but this particular migration/invasion over 10,000 years ago served to successfully split the ancient Origine culture…creating a second wave of culture – patriarchal, with its own rites and ceremonies…and many matristic lands were appropriated by the ‘new’ arrivals…this wave of cultural anomalies can be identified in anthropological works of early academics …and thus, the wars of 10,000 years ago began forming the next phase of Australia’s Origine history….

History is always repeating itself, so first of all I should explain a little bit about the present ‘split of culture in this country’….Ok…so now you know that we have a pre-invasion cultural system that includes both ancient old world and ancient new world cultures [which I just explained occurred approximately 10,000 years ago] …But now, as a result of British invasion we also have a post-colonial invasion system overlayed onto that……and this British system is an exclusively patriarchal colonial system which only recognises and endorses the [relatively recent – new world] patriarchal Origine lore……completely omitting the matristic.

This exclusive patronage is less than 20 years old …it began 50 years ago with the need to administrate the survivors of the initial British invasion…but it has evolved, and presently [over the last 20 years] the government has created administrative systems which it calls ‘Aboriginal Nations’….rights

These aboriginal ‘nations’ first showed up after Native Title was won in the courts [ie; Origine peoples v’s the Commonwealth Government] back in the early 90’s…prior to this there were no nations in Origine lore.

Today these ‘nations’ systems control all aspects of the lives of the Origine peoples lifes….using apartheid processes, where-by one culture is relocated and used to take over and administrate the ancestral area of another…these are referred to as forced closures of Aboriginal communities – which dispossesses them from their ancestral lands and renders them refugees in centralised areas…..

These nation systems are linked to changing ancestral culture and language, which in turn changes geospatial place names on maps, which in turn changes who can prove [in a court] originally owns the land…….which cause lots of fights – and this then causes more administration to ‘step in’ to take control…..it’s all a vicious circle…

The Commonwealth was about to lose control of all the land after native title was proven,  so by 1993 they commenced their solution…. an old tried and true method of the pen being mightier than the sword…it’s a post invasion methodology used all over the planet….

Conquer a country…make up a nation system to administrate them, force them to change the language, then change the maps to match, then use the new records to control administrative title of the land and water…Check it out and you’ll find it has occurred everywhere…..

tent embassyRemember…..the aboriginal nation system was only created in the last 20 years…basically it’s a rework of the colonial administration legislation to combat the post civil rights success of aboriginal recognition…following orders from their own patriarchal governance systems in England …ironically this is the same process  enacted on Britannia when their ancient tribes had been invaded by Rome……but they forgot to remember and have subsequently, and often, repeated the same mistake against the tribes of the colonies…….

The legacy of this process can be seen in relation to the Bandjalang Tribe [as distinct from the Bundjalung nation]….the Bandjalang are a tribe, or family kinship group of the old world moiety systems that existed before colonial invasion….

In December 2013 the Bandjalang Tribe successful achieved a Federal Court Determination of Native Title against the Australian government….they proved in a commonwealth court of law that they were the traditional owners of the lands and waters around Evans Heads http://www.northernstar.com.au/news/native-title-for-bandjalang-native-title-granted-a/2102587/

The Bandjalang peoples fight for recognition took them over 17 years during which time they went to great pains to oppose the government from referring to them as being part of the ‘new’ Bundjalung Nation system … Faithfully maintaining their cultural integrity [as a Tribe] proved successful for the Bandjalang people……

To Date, no native title claimants who have identified themselves as a member of the Bundjalung Nation, or any aboriginal nation has achieved Federal Determination in a commonwealth court….instead claimants have only conceded to be party to State Indigenous Land Use Agreements, or ILUA’s, which extinguish Native Title …..

So the Bandjalang tribe winning federal determination was a double edged sword….for despite beating the government in court, the Australian government still refuses to publicly acknowledge them in their own right and instead only endorses ‘nation’ cedes …

This same pattern of exclusion occurs to any other Origine group that has achieved federal court success, such as the Githabal….With any group who refuses to identify and be conformed into the nation system ending up being buried in a clandestine quagmire…..ancient cultures forced into assimilating with administrative nations systems or be damned to receive no assistance….meanwhile, to the world the nation system is being promote globally as the purported ‘truth….the rest of the planet totally unaware that it’s happening…..it’s a hidden apartheid..

Needless to say all this aboriginal nation system propaganda creates lots of surreptitious opportunities for corporate exploitation of land, waters, flora, fauna and people…. and it’s ongoing…destroying our Barrier Reef…polluting our ground water reserves…causing extinction of species…..mining uranium….tapping gas…devastating remnant forest….and occurring against the will of all Australian people excluded by the apartheid administration….our-culture

But…let’s get back to India and the war in the centre of the earth…..and the central island which sank and the pre-colonial matristic lineages, or Feathered Serpent Traditions of Australia…..

Several recordings of Bootheram lore outlining the war in the centre of the earth were made…initially by first colonial researchers in the late 1800’s….many of those records have been systematically eradicated in sanitised historical rewrites,  funded during “the Ministry of the Arts” political portfolios of the mid 2000’s when the aboriginal nations system was being developed and widely promoted……..any librarian or who opposed the alterations was sacked…any individual, ostracised. …….leaving only one independently published work from the early 1950’s which recorded and preserved the Bootheram….hiding it, not in historical records, but in poetry……

This Bootheram was collected in 1957 by an Australian poet named Roland Edward Robinson during the lead up to the Civil Rights campaigns of 60’s…..the Origine people at that time were denied having legal status of being human….to amend this they chose to tell their sacred Bootheram to trusted supporters…to people like Roland Robinson, who was helping them prove they had their own traditional lore and culture and deserved civil rights recognition and protection….Civil rights only happened in Australia in 1967…less than 50 years ago…

roland r head shot…..During an interview in 1973 Robertson stated   ‘I think that I have received more comfort, more enlightenment, more religion, and poetry from the Aborigines, than from any of the wise books of the white man’…….and I certainly have to agree with him…

Bootheram and the Matristic Starlore explains creation and connection of all biological life through combining science and doctrine to achieve sustainability….true caring for country…as opposed to the present biblical law which forms the basis of land tenure legislation for the planet causing entropic chaos globally…

But, before there was patriarchal law, there was Matristic Lore….Matristic linages follow stars and migrate seasonally….the vault of the stars can be read and they can’t be changed, unlike man-man books….The Origine peoples call their ancient matristic lore ‘Bootheram’ and the beautiful thing is it matches the Indian Vedas, the Tamil and the Sanskrit Matsya Purana……also epic poetic works…..

During a meeting I had with an Indian astrophysicist in 2007 we were both astounded to find the correlations between the ancestral Australian Origine knowledge and the ancient Indian culture….with shared knowledge of a central land mass that had sunk beneath the oceans…and Indian cave art with no decipherable meaning , which also matched Origine 1-635x400

We spoke at length about the marriage systems and the cast systems, both based on the stars…and we also realised that both cultures knew about a war in the centre of the earth that had pushed old world ‘hairy man’ survivors to the south and isolated them in Australia during an ancient invasion of the lands we now know as India…india - lilly….We shared knowledge of how this had occurred when a numerous and aggressive northern army from up near what is now the Caspian Sea waged war against the old world cultures….My astrophysicist friend was astounded to learn that a culture outside of India still retained the same knowledge…and it went back not just 10,000 years, or 15,000 years, but millions of years……all the way back to the Alcheringa….

Of Course current academics have been studying the genetic linkages between the Australian Origine peoples and the Indian….but these studies centre on the patriarchal lineages….whilst it is the matristic that records the ancient hairy genome and how [and why] it is linked to the marriage lore star cycles.

Unfortunately, the exclusive endorsement of the patriarchal cultures has brought much undue prejudice against the matristic lineages….causing patriarchal cultures to get all precious and superior about matristic bloodlines and ‘hairy-men’…….So it’s important to remember that northern hemisphere Neanderthals were hairy too – but died out [or were destroyed] approx. 40,000 years ago in Europe – and just like the Australian hairy lineages, they’d evolved to survive ice ages…

My own research on Matristic Starlore found the India Australia link to be supported by Bootheram traditions of migrations arriving to Australia occurring over several epochs…not just one…..with the common global link being the celestial deities spiralling from the south celestial stars, cyclically ….most all the global remnants of this old world lore has been usurped by the patriarchal, save the matristic lineages in Australia..

Unlike the patriarchal cultures, the matristic moieties [which is mitochondrial or MtDNA breeding – based on star cycles] can trace its bloodlines back millions of years and retains knowledge of events during those ancient times because of the constancy of the stars…including knowledge of ice ages and hairy people…

Currently the ‘Hairyman’ is being featured on Australian television in a new series called Cleverman…and though promoted as mythological it is in fact drawing heavily from reality……..ART imitates Life…

“Cleverman is set in a near-future Australia in which ancient creatures, the “Hairypeople”, have re-emerged to take their place alongside humans. However, coexistence is not so easy, with government agencies unwilling to recognise the Hairypeople (or “Hairies”) as citizens and limiting their movements to a heavily policed “Zone”….     http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-05-26/burke-an-indigenous-superhero-series-with-a-political-streak/7448642

So how did the ‘new world’ arrive in the ‘old world’?

One academic, Professor Alan Cooper, from the University of Adelaide’s Centre for Ancient DNA, says the Indian influence may well have played a role in the development of the Aboriginal culture – outlined in a paper titled ‘Genome-wide data substantiate Holocene gene flow from India to Australia’.

Professor Cooper says it is impossible to ignore the link with the discovery of the dingo…….”The timing of all those things in the archaeological record, about 4,000 to 5,000 years ago, happens to match the timing estimated for this genetic influx from India,” he said…

I, myself, have found the matristic lore of Dogs following the tribes as well as the Starlore of the two heavenly dogs [or dingos] who ‘guard’ the marriage cycle in the stars can be found in many global cultures, including the Anubis of Egypt, or Kemet…and that the Kemet were regularly trading with east Australian tribes several thousand years ago…and with India….

Professor Cooper also points to another development that happened around the time of the Australia Indian connection – a big expansion of one of the Aboriginal language groups…

“This other language seems to have taken over Australia relatively recently – perhaps 5,000 years ago,” he said……”And how it did it, how it replaced the other ancient languages, we don’t know……..”So suddenly, 4,000 to 5,000 years ago is starting to become a fairly tumultuous time in Australian history.”……he says.

Yes….they have used this assimilation formula again and again… change the language, and change the maps to match the imported language [or attribute the name on the map to the newly created nation in the geographical records], and thereby retain control and title of the land and water……..

There are 3300 year old maps in the Museum of Cairo with Australia clearly identified on them….and hieroglyphs which use Origine southern hemisphere Starlore deities on the pyramids and tombs…..there are even Egyptian tombs in Australia [the Gosford Glyphs]…all sanitised out of His-story or, like the ‘Hairy-man’ linages, excluded….Egyptian map showing aboriginal - 3,300 bc - based on mural from Hierakonpolis tomb mural

Perhaps if the Bootheram Lore of the Carpet-snake clan matristic lineages wasn’t so stealthily buried we would understand more about our past, our present, and most importantly, how to survive the future….

“We know so little about Australian human legacy, and yet it’s perhaps one of the longest continuous occupations of any human cultural group in the world,” Professor Cooper said …….“It’s one of the most rich and challenging stories in human history, and we know almost nothing about it.”………..

Some academics did and still do try to negotiate the labyrinth of sanctioned historical records…in the past so few of them thought to just ask the Origine elders…. Currently, in Australia, all academics are required to adhere to ‘memorandum of understanding’ contracts which exist between government education facilities and government created nations…no concurrence – no degree….resulting in no matristic lore being allowed to be identified let alone included.

Anthropology is a contentious field of study and Thomas Henry Huxley was by far the most influential early European thinker about human origins……. Champion of Darwin’s theory of evolution, as a young man Huxley visited Australia on the HMS Rattlesnake in 1847, 11 years after Darwin came here on the HMS Beagle………While he showed little interest in anthropology at the time, he would subsequently go on to found human evolution science and strongly shape Darwin’s ideas about our origins.

In 1870, in On the Geographical Distribution of the Chief Modifications of Mankind, Huxley proposed that Indigenous Australians were closely related to the people of South Asia, confidently asserting:

‘The only people out of Australia who present the chief characteristics of the Australians in a well-marked form are the so-called hill-tribes who inhabit the interior of the Dekhan, in Hindostan.’

http://newsroom.unsw.edu.au/news/science-tech/ancient-australian-connection-india

Hindostan is an historical region of India considered at various times to include only the upper Ganges River Plateau, or all of northern India from the Himalaya mountains to the Deccan Plateau and from the Punjab to Assam….which also coincides with the area referred in matristic Bootheram Lore as ‘the centre of the earth’….Kailash…..with portions of Bootheram describing a central island area linking Australia to India…and a ‘sacred spring’….

Lost-Continent-of-Kumari-KandamThis in turn coincides with the Kumari Kandam legends of the central land mass depicted in the ancient Tamal and Sanskrit Matsya Purana texts linking to a great southern island…….. and, in these texts they describe the movement of the earth mass, called ‘Navalam Theevu’ in Tamil, which caused the formation of the present continent of India….and severed Australia from the north…

The present formations of India, Arabia, Africa, Antarctica, South America and Australia started breaking up due to natural upheavals and moving to different parts of the earth at the rate of 15,000 years per mile on an average and found their places in the Asian Continent….which makes these ancient lore’s VERY old….

shiftAlso aligned with Origine matristic Starlore, the Rig Vedic Myths are symbolic expressions of astronomical phenomena, both of lunar asterisms and solar movements…and they are linking them to geological movements; again, the same as Origine Bootheram – as above so below

”Kumari Kandam”, the land that lay to the south of India and, which later submerged in the Indian Ocean, has been a matter of conjecture for many scholars…..but few of them realise [yet] that Australian Origine Starlore is recording the other side of the ancient Indian story..

“Because of a calamity, which took place in 9,000 BC, a terrific destruction occurred and destroyed Chera, Chola and Pandiya Kingdoms and they all then came and settled in South India. The great scholar Sri Avvai Duraisamy Pillai has established that the “Pancha Dravidam” is the region consisting Gujarath, Maharashtra, Andhra, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu”.

“This is the time to write the correct history of Tamil Nadu. In “Irayanar Agapporul” (Nakkeerar Urai) it is mentioned that 72 Pandiya Kings had ruled Tamil Nadu (which was inclusive of the destroyed Kumari Kandam) from 30,000 B.C. to 16,000 B.C. (i.e. for 14,000 years)”.

“Eastern Island, 1,000 miles near Japan, has a script called Rongo Rongo and it is identical with Mohenjo-daro letters. This has been fixed as 1,00,000 years old”…

These are just some of the quotes of eminent India scholars confirming the migration from the ‘centre of the world’ in northern India and the vast timeframes of these world histories…. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/tamil-nadu/lemuria-and-kumari-kandam/article482101.ece

Mohenjo-daro [Mound of the Dead Men] is an archaeological site in the province of Sindh, Pakistan…Built around 2500BCE, it was one of the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley and one of the worlds earliest major urban settlements contemporaneous with the civilisations of ancient Mesopotamia, Minoa, Chorte Chico and Egypt…with Egypt trading with east coast Origine moieties during these times….

All this global academic speculation includes every continent, except one… AUSTRALIA – the most ancient land on earth…..

The suppression of the lore by Australian authorities systems denies the matristic Bootheram to be brought to the attention of the masses and unified with the work of international academics……one has to ask why not?….is it in order to retain control – by suppressing matristic language and changing maps to retain tenure that allows the earth to be raped..?….

Australia is the missing link in this old world history and vital to decoding its meaning ….because our ancestral Bootheram has a very important function…It reminds us to remember, and teaches us how to be sustainable over long timeframes….but if we are denied access to learn from the true records of our past, then we, as a planet, are doomed to blindly repeat the problems…..

Anyway…here is one of the Bootheram’s describing the sunken island and the ancient war in the centre of the earth …it was collected and published by a roustabout [cowboy] from Coonamble, named Roland Robinson, who would collect and publish many Bootheram from tribes all over Australia under the protective guise of poetry, which before the common man learnt to read and write was the way oral history was retained and faithfully passed….

This particular Bootheram is called The Sacred Spring….It’s celestial matristic Starlore that is using metaphoric symbolism to describe geological and climate events – as above so below – and it is loaded with time marker clues that match many described in the Indian texts which record their lands being invaded from the north and the ‘old world’ being pushed to the south, towards Australia….

Robinson collected this Bootheram in 1953, from a Mr Ken Gordon, who was an elder of the Bandjalang tribe, from the time before patriarchal ‘aboriginal nations’ were ever created…..it’s called ‘The Sacred Spring’ and its describing an epoch when the earth had a different equator to the one it has now, which I’ll tell you about in another blog…so if you would like to hear more, please subscribe…it’s free and will be emailed direct to you…Hoo Roo……

The Sacred Spring –

“This story is a Budgeram [sic]. When the old people said Budgeram they meant “Away back from the beginning’.  In the beginning of the world there were three people…

There was Ngudjungulli [sic]…. Buloogan and Guangun…..

Ngudjungulli is the boss of the whole world…he never dies.

Buloogan and Gaungan, they both died.

Buloogan was the most handsome man in the whole world.

Gaungan was the most beautiful woman in the whole world.

Buloogan died, but he is supposed to come back some day.

He’s above all these wee-uns, the cleverfellers.

From the beginning this land was one whole land from here to India.

The Aborigines used to go over and fight the Indians and come back again….the old people said that the people they fought had a kind of turban thing slip off and you’d see their long hair fall down backwards.

There was a sacred spring in Queensland…..No one was allowed to go near it.

Once, when the aborigines wanted to go over to India to fight, there was one man who had two wives.  He didn’t want his wives to follow him to India…so he took his nulla nulla and half killed them both.  Then he went over an left those women behind.

When the man were gone, those two women put their heads together…”Now, we’ll go to the sacred spring”, they said.

Well, they took their yam sticks to that sacred spring.  From the spring, one went digging this way and one went digging that way…”We’ll keep going till we meet one another”, they said….as they dug the water from the spring followed them. Where they met, one water goes this way and the other water goes the other way…it is the roughest water in the world.

Well, these aborigines finished their war over on the other side…They started on their way back…when they got along a bit they saw just one mass of water.

This Buloogan was with them.  He made the mountains and islands rise out of the water…Then, with their ‘borror’, the string that they pull out of their mouths,  the clever-fellers took this cord and threw it from island to island…They crossed over this cord until they landed back in Australia.

As soon as they came back they knew what had happened…

They blamed that man for beating up his two wives….

These warriors came across those two women talking at the Australian Bight…One of the wee-un’s, the clever-fellers, turned those women into stone…After that the aborigines lost touch with the outside world…They never went back fighting any more…

This was the beginning of the world…”…….

The Metaphor of the Feathered Serpents in Ngarakbal Githabal Country

There is a global mythology of Feathered Serpents throughout ancient tribal nations….and as the last great continent to be invaded, Australia’s original people hold the least corrupted of the ancestral lore….The most eastern extremity of the Australian Continent is the ancestral country of the Ngarakbal Githabal people, who refer to themselves as “Bird Tribes”…Their ancient traditional Lores and Customs are a rich repository of metaphoric lore of creation…..
Feathered Dinosaurs - Bird Ancestors
Feathered Dinosaurs – Bird Ancestors

The Ngarakbal Githabal people are direct descendants of the ancient Carpet-snake clans – “Bird Tribes”, or Feathered Serpent Traditions…..

Their totems and ceremonies bear witness to true and factual evolutionary creation sequences, and their lores and traditions travel through the landscape, climbing four ancient volcano’s, into the bordering ancestral lands of the Wakka Wakka peoples of the Bunya Mountains.

The oldest known Australian marsupial fossils are from a  55 million year old, Early Eocene site at Murgon in southern Queensland, in the Bunya Mountains volcano lands of the Wakka Wakka people.   This site has produced a range of marsupial fossils, many with strong South American connections…..and South America also has a rich mythology of Feathered Serpents.

In 1987 the Murgon site also produced an isolated tooth that is thought to from a condylarth, which has been named Tingamarra porterorum…….Condylarths are an ancient group of placental mammals know from various other regions of the world, and the presence of Tingamarra in Australia indicates that placentals were indeed present there at the time when the continent broke away from Antarctica.  The world’s oldest fossil bat was also found at the Murgon site…..Very old marsupial fossils have been found on other continents, most notably, North America and Asia.Palaeontology

The Bootheram [Dreaming Lore] of the Ngarakbal Githabal says that “the first bird flew from the Bunya Mountains”……and that Bird was the “Kirra”….the White Cockatoo….There is a coastal beach village on the New South Wales Queensland border, in Ngakakbal Githabal country…and if you follow the ridge from Kirra beach, all the way up the Macpherson Ranges and continue following it up and up, you come to the Bunya Mountains volcano, where all the ancestral totems are being uncovered from the ancient Gondwanan landscape…….right where the ancestral Bootheram Lore has always know them to be.

Here’s a short clip that explain’s a little more of the Feathered Serpent Lore of the Ngarakbal Githabal peoples…..the Bird Tribes of Australia…..enjoy
